The first Triple-E port call in Poland not only gave a wider audience the chance to see the world`s largest ship, it was above all a great opportunity for Maersk Line to interact with customers.
When the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller arrived in Gdansk, Poland on August 21, thousands of people were there to welcome the vessel for its first call. But for the customers who attended, the Triple-E is more than just the world`s largest ship.
While duly taken with the ship and the event, "the really impressive part of this event," said Mr. Kim from Samsung Poland, "is that the Maersk Line top management is willing to hear our voice as customer.
They do care about the issues we have and try to learn the customer's point of view." Mr. Kim was one of hundreds of customers who were specially invited for a beach event with a first glimpse of the vessel.
"Welcoming the vessel was a unique experience," says Mira Roszkiewicz, Logistics Import Manager at Castorama in Poland, adding that 'Triple-E is economy with poetry." Maria Lorinczova, Sea Department Manager at Kuehne+Nagel in Slovakia also reflects that the event was definitely" a thing to remember," while Tomas Bartovic, Sea Cargo Export Manager at Cargo-Partner in Slovakia praised the networking opportunity at the event allowing many business discussions in a friendly environment.
"It is not just about the big ship, but above all about us doing business the Maersk way," says Thomas Bagge, East Central Europe Cluster Top. "it is a great opportunity to remind our customers why we believe Maersk Line is the best partner to support their business."
Thomas`s words were echoed by Karsten Kildahl, head of the North Europe Region, who pointed out that welcoming the vessel, which bears the name of Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, is a wonderful opportunity to meet and strengthen mutual relations.
"Mr. Moller was convinced that our business must be based on partnership, trust and mutual respect and that those principles apply no matter whether you are shipping containers, cooperating with authorities or talking to your own employees," Karsten highlighted in his speech prior to taking visitors on board for a vessel tour. < Korea Shipping Gazette >
