Hanjin Shipping, Evergreen and Simatech are introducing a new East Africa service effective from the end of March.
Named AF1 for Hanjin Shipping, IDEA for Evergreen and Simatech, this new service covering Kenya and Tanzania will be jointly operated by Evergreen, Hanjin Shipping and Simatech on a weekly basis with four 2,500 TEU class vessels deployed by each partner carrier.
According to the partner carriers, these two nations have recorded a steady increase of 6~7% in GDP over the past 5 years. In accordance with such economic growth, the trade from Asia, the Middle East and IPBC to East African regions has been experiencing a significant upturn in recent years. They commented that the introduction of this new service will satisfy growing customer needs in the trade.
Meanwhile, Evergreen, Hanjin Shipping and Simatech will work closely together to enhance their service network and market presence in the region.
