Hanjin Shipping launches new South Asia and U.S. East Coast service
Hanjin Shipping announced that it is adding a new service between South Asia/Middle East and the U.S. East Coast effective from the end of July.
Named AWZ (All Waters Suez), this service is currently operated by APL and Hanjin Shipping and will be chartering slots to provide easier access to these growing markets including Sri Lanka, southern India, Bangladesh and the Middle East.
The company expects the current transit time from Singapore to New York to improve significantly as it will be reduced from 29 days to 21 days.
The new service will be as follows :
Singapore - Colombo - New York - Charleston - Savannah - Norfolk - Jebel Ali - Singapore.
The new AWZ service commences with the APL Cyprine calling Singapore on July 28th, 2009.
