'Best Green Shipping Line' for the fourth time

At the 2015 Asian Freight and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards, sponsored by 'Asia Cargo News' Hamburg Sud received the award as 'best Green Shipping Line' for the fourth year in a row. This year, the award ceremony was held in Hong Kong on June 24 and was attended by several hundred senior representatives of Asian and international companies in the shipping, transportation and logistics sectors.

The award was accepted on behalf of the shipping group by Eric Chow, General Manager Area South China. "The AFLAS award is one of the leading freight and logistics awards in Asia. Thousands of shippers and industry experts have voted, making the results a true reflection of the opinion of the industry"  the Hamburg Sud manager stresses.

An expert panel selected three shipping companies as AFLAS finalists, including Hamburg Sud, and the winner was chosen by the readers of the Hong Kong-based transport and logistics newspaper 'Asia Cargo News' The criteria for the award included compliance with national and global environmental regulations and standards, adequate investment in new environmental technologies, and measures to reduce fuel consumption.
