CK Line received a new 1,900TEU container ship from Hyundai Mipo Dock Yard and deployed the new vessels in Korea - Southeast Asia trade.
On April 9, 2015 CK Line held a naming ceremony for the 'SKY ORION'. CK Line has ordered a second similar vessel. Construction of the vessel began on July 21, 2014 and took about 9 months to complete.
The new ship is 20,738 t, 172.2 m long, 27.5 m wide, and its top service speed is 21 knots.
The newbuilding has been deployed in the Vietnam - Thailand service with a rotation of:
Busan (Thursday) - Kwangyang (Thursday) - Hong Kong (Sunday) - Ho Chi Minh City (Wednesday) - Laem Chabang (Friday) - Bangkok (Saturday) - Leam Chabang (Monday) - Hong Kong (Friday) - Xiamen (Sunday) - Busan (Wednesday).
CK Line said that it plans to offer reliable and competitive services to shippers through the new ship.
