Korea Business System held a public demonstration and seminar on Octob
er 5th for Logis-Link.com, a professional ASP (Applications Server Pro
vider) that handles on-line real time procedures and jobs related to i
nbound and outbound cargo flows. Through this site, shippers, forwarde
rs, carriers, and KT-Net (Korea Trade Network) will be able to easily
transfer documents and information using computers, as well as draw up
export permits and relevant trade documents quickly. In other words,
Logis-Link.com might save the time and costs incurred from complicate
d document processes by relating several organizations.
Logis-Link.com is composed of 7 parts: 1 schedule checking, 2 commerci
al invoicing and packing lists, 3 cargo and logistics boards, 4 cargo-
tracking systems, 5 Shipping and Requesting and Data transfer, 6 ocean
shipping, air transporting negotiations, 7 booking systems, 8 cargo i
nsurance.
The company has concentrated on these processes since it was establish
ed in 1984. Formerly Korea O.A. Corp., it was renamed in 1991 to lead
the computerization of the domestic forwarding industries.
