Hual expands service network
Norwegian vehicle carrier operator HUAL, one of the leading carrioers of Korean autos and High/Heavy equipment to Europe and Americas, is adding Australia to its service from Europe to South Africa, Indian Ocean and Pacific.
This is HUAL's first regular service to Australia, as previous port call's "down under" have been for spot cargoes only.
HUAL is a wholly - owned subsidiary of Leif Hoegh & Co., ASA, one of Norway's leading shipping companies. This Oslo-based company operates a fleet of 40 owned and chartered PCTC vehicle carriers ranging in capacity from 3,500 to 6,200 standard - size cars, with an annual transportation volume of close to 1 million car equivalent units.
The inclusion of Australia is just the latest step in a continuous expansion of HUAL's already extensive network of services throughout the world. In order to co-ordinate the marketing activities for all HUAL's services to and from the Far East, HUAL is arranging a Marketing Seminar at Cheju Island March 15 - 16 with participation from all its agents in the region, including Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
"Today, frequency and transit time are extremely important for our customers, both auto manufacturers and shippers of High/Heavy machinery. This makes close co-ordination of the marketing for the inbound and outbound services crucial", says Tore Nyebak, HUAL Senior Marketing Manager. "Getting all our agents in the region together in a seminar like this gives us a chance to exchange information, address problems of common interest and learn from each other's experiences. We also get to know each other better personality, which is very important for a business where the personal touch really makes a difference for the customers."
The choice of Korea and Cheju Island as venue fro the seminar was no coincidence, Nyebak says. "Auto Shipping co., Ltd, our agent in Korea has done a very good job in taking care of similar arrangements, so we knew the facilities here are excellent and the participants would be in good hands," he concluded.
