Maersk Line announced its Daily Maersk service recorded almost perfect on-time performance in Asia-North Europe trade.
The service has delivered an average reliability of 97% over the last six months, and more recently reliability has exceeded 99%.
“We are extremely pleased to see the on-time delivery rate for Daily Maersk improving month by month. We are truly delivering on our promise of absolute reliability,” says Ole Pradsgaard, Daily Maersk Project Lead.
Maersk Line’s Daily Maersk product offers daily cut off times for cargo loading (rather than weekly cut-offs) and provides flexibility for customers. It also measures reliability based on container availability for gate-out at the destination port and not the transit time for the service.
The service has been gaining popularity in the world’s busiest corridors. In the corridor from Yantian, China to Felixtowe, England alone it has transported more than 17,000 containers in the first six months.
Daily Maersk has also helped reduce the carbon footprint of the supply chain by producing approximately 13% lower CO2 emissions per container moved than the industry average on the Asia-North Europe trade. < Korea Shipping Gazette >
