The benefit event of the year saw MSC USA hold a virtual fundraiser in support of Operation Smile’s medical missions around the world. Our USA agency has been supporting Operation Smile since 2011, when the charity was made the key beneficiary of our corporate social responsibility activities.
As we continue our significant annual partnership to bring about transformational change for children in need, MSC USA held its second Virtual Benefit Event on Wednesday, December 8. The event raised over $250,000, which will translate into more than 1,000 life-changing surgeries for children in need all around the world.
This year, American actress, producer, and model Lydia Hearst was our Master of Ceremonies. Other special guests included Fabio Santucci, President of MSC USA, and Claudio Bozzo, Chief Operating Officer of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, as well Operation Smile Co-Founders, Bill and Kathy Magee. Founded in 1982, Operation Smile is a volunteer-based, international medical charity dedicated to providing free surgeries and related medical care to children and young adults who suffer from cleft conditions in low-resource setting around the world.
We would like to thank all our donors for their generous contributions, helping MSC USA make a positive difference in many people’s lives, allowing the more than 6,000 active medical volunteers of this global network continue to provide safe, effective, and timely surgery and comprehensive care to people where it’s needed the most. Please go to the Operation Smile website to support the work of the organization across their many missions worldwide. If you wish to support the ongoing campaign of support from MSC USA to Operation Smile, please visit MSC's dedicated page on the Operation Smile website.
