Mr. Jeremy Nixon, CEO of Ocean Network Express (ONE), recently visited Thailand on 16 January 2019 as part of a tour to meet with the local ONE Thai office in Bangkok where a town hall meeting was held with all employees. Mr. Nixon also met with customers, freight forwarders and other local companies as well as paying a special visit to Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Deputy Minister of Transport.
To offer appreciation, Mr. Nixon and other ONE’s delegations visited the MOT and that at the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Nixon expressed ONE’s special thanks to the Deputy Minister of Transport. The Deputy Minister was already familiar with ONE and its contributions as he was amongst the first representatives who recently visited ONE Columba at Laem Chabang Port when the new vessel arrived in Thailand.
During the meeting, the group enthusiastically discussed the current state of Thai trade whilst Mr. Nixon also expressed ONE’s firm intent to support the Thai government’s initiatives such as the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project. Mr. Nixon said, “It is fantastic to finally meet with members of the Thai government such as Dr. Chuchottaworn, and I am thrilled to support initiatives such as the EEC Project.
Since ONE’s formation earlier this year, we have been working tirelessly, and we are now back up to full production levels and full industry load factors. A highlight for us in Thailand late last year was the maiden calling of the ONE Columba at Laem Chabang Port, which holds the record now as the largest container vessel to ever call a Thai port. Overall, I am very happy with our team here in Thailand and I am looking forward to working more with the Thai government moving forward to continue growing stronger together.”
