Hanjin Shipping is expanding its service network in West Australia by introducing WAX (West Australia Express) effective as of the mid-January.
WAX (West Australia Express) is currently operated by K-Line, Hanjin Shipping’s partner in the CKYH Alliance, under the name of WASCO (West Australia Container Service) with two 1,700 TEU class ships sailing between Singapore and Fremantle.
Port rotation is Singapore – Fremantle – Singapore. The commencement date is January 18th, 2013.
Hanjin Shipping will be participating in the service by securing vessel slots while launching a new agency to promote sales in the region.
Hanjin Shipping commented that with the introduction of this new service and an agency, they will be able to cover both the east and west coasts of Australia, broadening their network in the region.
Currently, Hanjin Shipping is operating two services to Australia, AUS (Australia Service) and CKA (China – Korea – Australia). < Korea Shipping Gazette >
