From January 2013, Hamburg Sud will be offering two new services from the Mexican port of Manzanillo to Central America West Coast.
Sling 1 will connect Manzanillo with Acajutla (El Salvador), Corinto (Nicaragua) and Puerto Caldera (Costa Rica). Sling 2 is a direct connection from Manzanillo to Puerto Quetzal (Guatemala). With the inclusion of the new service between the US West Coast, Ecuador, and Peru, Puerto Quetzal will be called at twice weekly.
The first sailing from Manzanillo in Sling 1 will be with the “Falmouth” (860 TEU) on January 9, 2013. Sling 2 is to start with the sailing of the “Oberon” (900 TEU) on January 10, 2013.
These new services are part of they company’s restructuring of their West Coast Central America Service, and add the growing markets in Central America to the Hamburg Sud Asia ? Latin America West Coast Service and the two West Coast North America Services. < Korea Shipping Gazette >
