South Korean Samsung Heavy Industries announced it achieved a drill ship order from an European ship owner SeaDrill Limited(SDRL).
The company's order book has been filled with USD 7.1 billion singing the USD 623 million contract with the Bermuda-based drilling firm SeaDrill.
As a result, Samsung Heavy Industries could accomplish 57% of its target for 2012's obtain orders, USD 12.5 billion.
The drill ship which will be delivered by early 2015 will measure 228 m long by 42 m wide by 19 m high.
Until now, the Korean company has taken contracts for 7 drill ships in 2012. Also, it has 55 drill ships among 126 ships in the global market while the company has seized 44% of the global market. < 김보람 기자 brkim@ksg.co.kr >
