CJ GLS (CEO Shon Kwan Soo) launched a new service to shipping parcels ordered through TV home shopping in Thailand.
CJ GLS announced the company is exporting its Korean-style delivery service to Thailand, its 3rd overseas expansion after India and Vietnam. The Korean wave is sweeping Thailand with great success, and Korean products and culture are becoming more and more popular there.
The logistics company provides the "CJ' O Mart", a channel for home shopping broadcast on TV with a delivery service for parcels ordered through the channel. The home shopping channel broadcast on June 18th for the first time .
CJ GLS has established its shipping network with Bangkok as the hub with 4 sub-terminals and warehouses. The company provides the new service in Thailand’s 9 capital areas with 4 million households using 20 trucks and 30 motorcycles.
CJ GLS expects the service will expand to other regions in Thailand by 2016. Further, the company offers speedy delivery, cash on delivery, and delivery during holidays.
Huh Uk, the director of the global operation said, "We've already succeeded with our business in Thailand. In 2010 we broke the $100 million level in Thailand already.
