A.P. Moller - Maersk name giving of the MAERSK VISUAL in Korea.
On Thursday 21st June 2007, A.P. Moller Singapore Pte Ltd latest newbuilding, an 82.000 cubm VLGC gas tanker built in Korea was named. The sponsor Mrs Grace Mulliken, wife of Christopher Mulliken LPG Trading Manager with Glencore Ltd. honoured the owner, A.P. Moller Singapore Pte Ltd., by naming the newbuilding MAERSK VISUAL at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. in Ulsan, Korea.
Senior Vice President of Maersk Gas Carriers, Mr Martin Fruergaard, hosted the namegiving, which was attended by customers, representatives from the maritime industry and employees from the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group.
MAERSK VISUAL is the first in a series of four Very Large Gas Carrier which Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. which all are for delivery in 2007 and marks the beginning of a significant expansion for the A.P.Moller - Maersk Group in LPG transportation.
MAERSK VISUAL is registered in Singapore and will be commanded by Captain Venkatesh Ramakrishnan, with Mr Ajay Shankar Shukla as Chief Engineer.
