CMA CGM opens up new Korea/Europe route
CMA CGM has opened up a new Korea/North Europe service through a slot deal with Hyundai Merchant Marine, with the first inbound sailing to north Europe expected in Rotterdam shortly.
To date, CMA CGM coverage of the Korea/Europe has been limited and has mostly relied on slots with China Shipping on its AEX1 service that has been restructured to concentrate on the China market.
CMA CGM new slot deal is on the Hyundai Asia/Europe Express (AEX), which CMA CGM is marketing as its Korea/Europe Express (KEX) service.
The KEX service also includes a call in Taiwan at Kaohsiung both east and westbound.
Port rotation for the KEX service is : Kwangyang, Busan, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Thamesport, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Kwangyang.
Hyundai runs the service with eight new 6,500 teu TEU vessels having just completed a capacity upgrade from vessels around 4,800 teu TEU.
