Busan Port posts 1.7 % increase of cargo volume
In spite of fierce competition with Chinese ports and difficulties Busan Port posted 1.7 % increase of cargo volume. It is especially regarded as good signal that transshipment cargo volume which had posted downward trajectory has marked 3 consecutive months increases since last October.
This is mainly due to the retouch at Busan Port by the world largest shipping company, Maersk.
BPA said that it will employ aggressive marketing approaches by repealing taxes imposed on containers and opening additional 3 berths in New Port, anticipating that these approaches will contribute to increased cargo volume this year.
