Busan extends RFID project

Busan port has completed installation of over 30,000 pieces of RFID equipment and expects the technology to improve productivity by 20%

In the first phase of the Ubiquitous-Port Project, RFID chips were installed on 10,000 containers and 20,000 container trailers and 220 RFID readers were placed in the terminals and major tollgates.

Incheon and Gwangyang will be the next two ports to apply RFID technology, as planned in the second phase of u-Port, by 2008.
