Multimodal logistics companies at logistics distribution center in Busan
A total of 67 multimodal logistics companies are reportedly to do their logistics business at a logistics distribution center adjacent to North Container Terminal at Busan New Port in Korea.
Among the logistics companies, 36 companies are foreign logistics companies; 18 from Japan, 8 from China, and others from the U.S., Canada, Netherlands, Singapore, etc.
Busan Port Authority(BPA) said that in order to meet what multimodal logistics companies from home and abroad require, BPA has made utmost efforts to secure sufficient space of logistics center which will witalize Busan New Port in the future.
BPA also added that it selected 67 companies, 36 from foreign countries and 31 from Korea, at the 983,000 square meters of distripark in Busan New Port by releasing notice three times from November last year to October this year.
In particular, Jananese leading shipping line, NYK which estabilished joint venture with KCTC, domestic logistics company, will handle wine, office furniture, and tier.
Daiso International, famous for 100Yen shop, DAT-JAPAN will handle general goods and office furniture respectively.
Steinweg, multinational logistics company headquartered in Netherlands will also use the logistics distribution center at Busan New Port as its logistics distribution center at Busan New Port as its logistics base in handling steel, ironstone, plastic and so on.
BPA said that logistics companies at the logistics distripark will make significant contribution to create new cargo adding more logistics center should be secured to attract more logistics companies to the distiripark.
