HMM raised its annual traffic goal to 1.84 million TEU, 10% over last years 1.7 million TEU. The company expects to meet goals easily as container traffic usually picks up during the third quarter and HMM already carried 890 thousand TEU in the first half.
Especially, HMM assumes that it will reap revenues over its container volumes with rates restoration and a profit?centered sales strategy.
HMM plans to give more attention to the quickly growing Chinese market and expand its sales structure and man-power there beginning this November. Main trade routes are under re-consideration in order to maximize their potential. High-value cargoes such as cold storage cargoes will be accepted with priority and niche markets will be introduced.
