[ Major Indian Ports are All Y2K Compliant. ]

All 11 functional major ports in Indea have are now year 2000 (Y2K) co
mpliant for the new millennium, according to the Ministry of Surface T
ransport (MOST).
In a statement, the ministry said the major ports are well prepared to
face anticipated computer problems at the start of the year 2000. MOS
T said the government ports have also prepared contingency plans to me
et any unforeseen problem. All ship-based systems in state-owned Shipp
ing Corporation of Indea and Dredging Corporation of Indea are also be
ing made Y2K compliant, the statement added.
