Hanjin Shipping receives first 13,100-TEU class containerships

Hanjin Shipping has announced the delivery of its first 13,100-TEU class containerships.

Named the “Hanjin Sooho” (named after Sooho Cho, the late chairman) and the “Hanjin Asia”, these new vessels are the first and second of the series of nine 13,100-TEU class ships ordered at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). These vessels are known to be equipped with fuel-efficient and eco-friendly engines that can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

According to Hanjin Shipping, the “Hanjin Sooho” and “Hanjin Asia” will be deployed in Asia-Europe trades soon after their delivery in April. Meanwhile, the rest of the series is scheduled to be delivered this year and next year. < 코리아쉬핑가제트 >
