Seaspan accepts felivery of 63th containership

Seaspan Corporation (NYSE: SSW) recently announced that it accepted delivery of a 4,500-TEU containership, the Budapest Bridge, on August 1, 2011. The new containership, which was constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., is Seaspan's eighth delivery in 2011 and expands the Company's operating fleet to 63 vessels.

The Budapest Bridge is on charter to Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. (“K-Line”) under a twelve-year, fixed-rate time charter with options to K-Line to extend the charter term up to an additional six years. The ship is the last of five 4,500-TEU sister ships and the last of seven vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to K-Line.
