Orient Overseas Container Lines said its fourth quarter container volumes rose 19% to 1.30 million TEU from 1.10 million TEU a year earlier. Total revenues increased by 41.9% to US Dollars 1,518.6 million.
With a 22.0% increase in loadable capacity, the overall load factor was 2.0% lower than the same period in 2009. Overall average revenue per TEU increased by 19.4% compared to the fourth quarter of last year.
For the full year of 2010 (ended 31st December 2010), total volumes increased by 14.6% over the same period last year and total revenues recorded a 46.1% increase.
Loadable capacity increased by 4.5%, and the overall load factor was 7.2% higher than the corresponding period in 2009. Overall average revenue per TEU increased by 27.5% compared to the same period last year.<Korea Shipping Gazette>
