[ Hanjin Contaienr named two Million TEU ]

Currently ranked 4th in Europe’s container ports in terms of handling
volume, the Port of Felistowe achieved a very special record by reach
ing this year’s two million container. On November 1998, the biggest
port in UK dispatched the two million TEU, belonging to Hanjin Shippin
g, onto the St. Petersburg Senator, which currently operates on the Al
l Water East Coast Pendulum Service.
A ceremony was held at the Port of Felixstowe to honor this achievemen
t with representives from Hanjin Shipping and DSR-Senator, they includ
ed C.K> Oh, HJS managing director of Europe Headquarter and Peter Benn
et, the port’s managing director the Port of Felixstowe.
“This year’s result is a testimony that the Port of Felixtowe provid
es highly reliable and comprehensive service to their customers. As su
ch, Hanjin Shipping is also seeking to further enhance the level of co
operation and range of service between the Port of Felixstowe as well
as our customers.” says Mr. Oh.
At the Port of Felixstowe, Hanjin Shipping ranks 5th in terms of conta
iner volume and links its customers with inland logistics throughout t
he United Kingdom.
