Maersk to announce a rate restoration from Asia to Latin America
Trading conditions for the carriers operating in the markets between Asia and Latin America are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable in the longer term.
In a continued effort to provide our customers with best in class service in the region, Maersk Line announced a rate restoration program from Asia to Latin America:
1st July USD 300/600/600 per 20?40?40?C between Asia and the West Coast of South America, the Caribbean and Central America.
Further rate increases and peak season surcharges will be applied later in 2009. The exact timing and amounts will be advised in due time. <Korea Shipping Gazette>
