Evergreen responds with a Savannah call

To meet customer demand, Evergreen is to make Savannah the first inbound port on its Asia-U.S. East Coast Service (AUE) from the beginning of February 2009.

Starting with the 4,211 TEU vessel, Over Diadem 0453-081E departing on January 10, 2009 from Yantian port, Evergreen will operate a weekly service with a port rotation as follows:

Yantian - Hong Kong - Kaohsiung - Colon - Savannah - New York - Baltimore - Colon - Yantian
This adjustment will shorten transit times inbound from the Far East by six days so it will be reduced to 25 days from Yantian to Savannah. With this upgrade Evergreen has significantly improved transit times from the Far East to the U.S. East Coast. <Korea Shipping Gazette>
