Yang Ming delivers new 4,250 TEU container vessels
YM Eminence, a 4,250 TEU full-container vessel built for Yang Ming by CSBC Corp., Taiwan, was delivered and named at a ceremony held at the Kaohsiung Shipyard of CSBC Corp., Taiwan on April 16, 2008.
Mr. Wong-Hsiu Huang, Chairman of Yang Ming, and Mr. Chih-Cheng Li, President of CSBC Corp., Taiwan, presided over the naming ceremony. Mrs. Etta Negri, wife of Mr. Luigi Negri, who is the President of YM Italy S.p.A, was invited as the sponsor of YM Eminence.
To meet booming business in the market, Yang Ming has ordered five 4,250 TEU full-container vessels from CSBC, of which YM Eminence is just the first.
By the end of 2013, a total of 36 new containerships ranging from 4,250 TEU to 8,200 TEU and 12 bulk carriers will be built and deliver to Yang Ming. With the expanding of its fleet, Yang Ming is endeavoring to provide better services to its customers.
Yang Ming plans to put the new YM Eminence in the PNW Service (Pacific North West Service). The rotation of the PNW Service will be as follows: Hong Kong - Yantian - Kaohsiung - Pusan - Tacoma - Vancouver - Portland - Pusan - Hong Kong.<Korea Shipping Gazette>
