Distribution center at Busan New Port open
A highly advanced logistics distribution center, as one of the tenants at Distripark at Busan New Port, went into operation on April 11. The logistics tenants will make significant contributions to vitalize Busan New Port at an early stage by creating new cargo and many jobs.
Busan Port Authority (BPA) said on April 11 that Korea Express BND (Busan Newport Distripark), the second logistics company tenant at the distripark, held an opening ceremony. BND is a global logistics company with Korea Express, Hatsumura Daiichi Warehouse Co., Ltd., and Naru International Co., Ltd. investing together.
The logistics center was constructed at a size of 37,000ß≥ with 17,880ß≥ of floor space in the Free Trade Zone at a cost of 19 billion Korean won.
In particular, the logistics center sports high-tech facilities and is expected to create new jobs and add value through various logistics services such as processing and assembly among others.
Korea Express BND said that the logistics center will be positively utilized for Japanese manufacturing companies and create 20,000 TEU of cargo annually with 250 new jobs.<Korea Shipping Gazette>
