CSCL 8,500 TEU box ship deployed into transpacific route
On the afternoon of September 8th, China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) held a naming ceremony for its 8,500 TEU in Ya Zhouin the Hudong-Zhonghua shipbuilding yard.
The morning of the 9th, in Ya Zhou was delivered officially and deployed into CSCL ACC service (Far East/West Coast of United State).
in Ya Zhouis the first of five post-panamax vessels Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. built for CSCL and the largest container ship designed and built by China to fly the PRC flag.
in Ya Zhouis 334m long, with 320m between perpendiculars, 42.8m breadth molded, 24.8 depth molded, 13m designed draft, 14.65m structured draft and 101,000 ton deadweight. The major engine is MAN B&W12K98MC-C and the speed of the ship is 27 knots.
With scientific designation, the ship boasts 8,000 TEU efficient capacity and 700 plugs, which help to provide sound service for the cargo owners. It also has access to the shore power system which is good for protecting environment and saving energy. <Korea Shipping Gazette>
