After having managed the liner shipping activities of Hapag-Lloud for
the Asia/Pacific region for 5 years, Dr. Wulf Dehn, Managing Director
of Hapag-Lloyd(Asia), Singapore will relocate to New York, U.S.A., to
hold a similar position of managing the company’s activities within t
he Western Hemisphere. This move takes place effective August 15, 1997
.
In his place, the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd announced the appoint
ment of Mr. Rudy Mack to take over the position as Managing Director o
f Hapag-Lloyd(Asia) responsible to manage the liner shipping activitie
s of Hapag-Lloyd for the Asia/Pacific region which include the Middle
East, the India sub-continent, Australia/New Zealand, Asia and Japan.
Since 1993 Mr. Mack has been President of Hapag-Lloyd(Japan) Ltd., res
ponsible for Japan and Korea.
His successor in Japan will be Mr. Thomas Mandelkau. Mr. Mandelkau is
no newcomer to Japan and Korea as he served as General Manager for Hap
ag-Lloyd in Japan from 1989 to 1991 and before as Owner’s Representat
ive in Korea. Since 1991 Mr. Mandelkau occupied various management pos
itions of Hapag-Lloyd in Hamburg.
