Remodeling complete at Pusan Port 4th wharf

Dongbang Transport Logistics Co., and Kukje Transportaion Co., completed remodeling construction the 4th wharf of Pusan Port.

According to Pusan Regional Maritime Affaires & Fisheries Office, operator Dongbang and Kukje started the remodeling construction with about 10 billion won through approval from Pusan City in November, 2003. The 4th wharf remodeling work finished on August 26.

The work broadened container yards and container crane runways while removing old warehousing facilities used for general cargoes and forwarding facilities that were relocated to Gamcheon Port.

The Pusan Port general cargo wharf was suffering from lack of container yard space and needed an additional 4,000 pyoung yard (1 pyoung is about 3.3. sq. m). The port can now handle another 100,000 TEU per year.

The improvements also keep in line with the containerization trend for general cargoes thanks to the additional container crane runways.
