Norasia Line Announced Newbuilding Contract for 10 Vessels.

Norasia Line(Korea Agent:Chun Kyung Agency) is pleased to inform
about the seccessful conclusion of a Newbuilding Contract for 5 fast
Contract for fast Container vessels at the Jiangnan Shipyard situated
in Shanghai, which is one of the most advanced shipyards in the
People’s Repulic of China.
Mr. Hartmut Henzel, president of the Norasia Line, said that in
addition to this project further 5 vessels have been contracted with
the German shipyard, HDW in Kiel. These vessels will be identical to
the ones ordered in China, the capacity of all the 10 vessels is
1,350 TEUs and the service speed will be 25 knots. Delivery of the
first vessels will be in the second half of 1998.
These ten fast vessels will give Norasia a leading edge in the
specialised contanier vessel sector, the exceptional speed wil offer
various opportunities for employment within the current East-West
trade lanes. It has been Norasia’s policy in the past to exploit
the niches along the major trade lanes. This has proven to be a
seccessful strategy.
