Hanjin Shipping expands China services
Hanjin Shipping announced March 28 that it would expand its China services. The company will change its existing CAX (China America Express) service, from Ningbo - Shanghai - Gwangyang - Pusan - Longbeach - Oakland to Shanghai - Pusan - Longbeach to reduce transit times from 14 to 11 days.
The CAX operating service will increase from 2 times to 4 times a week, and the CUX (China US West Coast Express) service will open to serve Qingdao - Shanghai - Ningbo - Longbeach - Oakland - Gwangyang.
Hanjin Shipping will open the CLX (China Longbeach Express) service operating between Shanghai and Longbeach 2 times a week with Coscon with a fast sailing ship in the main route. It will also expand currently operating services aimed at the Chinese market.
An official at the company said, "Transpacific services are the largest routes, transporting 9.2 million TEU yearly. China and Hong Kong cargoes make up 65% of all containers," and added, "So, service competitiveness for the Chinese markets is a very important thing for shipping businesses.
