Southeast Asian import-export route records small container cargoes increase
Exports were up 1.95% and imports were up 2.92% for January.
Export container cargoes from Korea to Southeast Asia increased only slightly.
According to the Southeast Asia Liner Association and other companies, export container cargoes in Southeast Asian routes in January were 54,378TEU, up 1.95% compared to the same period of 2003.
Members of the Southeast Asia Liner Association treated 35,266TEU, up 9.37%, while non-member companies treated 19,112TEU, up 32.48% from the previous January.
Export container cargo results in Southeast Asian routes for January are follows: Taiwan 7,732TEU, up 6.28%, Hong Kong 18,662TEU, up 7.20%, Thailand 4,915TEU, up 4.33%, Malaysia 5,931TEU, up 20.70%, the Philippines 3,567TEU, down 25.02%, Singapore 3,510TEU, down 11.36%, Vietnam 3,076TEU, down 3.91%, and Indonesia 6,985TEU, down 1.79%.
Import container cargoes for the region in January totaled 35,580TEU, down 3.89% compare to the same period last year. Member companies of the Southeast Asia Liner Association transported 26,649TEU, down 5.98% while non-member companies transported 8,931TEU, up 2.92%.
Import cargo results for the region are follows: Hong Kong 9,428TEU, up 0.27%, Thailand 5,320TEU, up 7.67%, Malaysia 4,246TEU, up 4.71%, the Philippines 1,321 TEU, down 2.58%, Singapore 3,183TEU, down 14.18%, Vietnam 1,882TEU, down 1.57%, and Indonesia 6.552TEU, down 3.89%.
Export container cargo figures by liner for the region in January are follows: Heung-A Shipping 8,638TEU, KMTC(Korea Marine Transport Co., Ltd.) 7,502TEU. HMM(Hyundai Merchant Marine) 6,298TEU, Dongnama Shipping 5,339TEU and Hanjin Shipping 4,818TEU.
KMTC treated 8,392TEU import container cargoes, Heung-A Shipping transported 7,977TEU, and Dongnama Shipping and Wan Hai Lines transported 4,945TEU and 3,304 TEU respectively.
