Hamburg Sud enhances the "Asia Express Service"
Hamburg Sud announced February 16 that it will now offer a direct service to Mexico and West Coast South America bypassing Long beach and all US ports. With this enhancement, the new "Asia Express" service will no longer be subject to the US Customs Advanced Manifest Filing requirements. In addition, transit times to all ports will improve by 3~4 days.
One official from the company said, "We are also pleased to announced that the "Asia Express Service" will offer weekly, direct service from both Ningbo and Shanghai."
Futher enhancements include weekly ports calls at Callao as well as Manzanillo, Mexico, Guayaquil, Iqique and Valparaiso. These changes will begin with the sailing of the Cap Colville voyage 401E.
