Hanjin hosts container equipment conference
Hanjin Shipping hosted a conference for container equipment management for Korean shipping companies.
The company discussed improving equipment management with 30 supervisors from HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine), KMTC (Korea Marine Transportation Company), Dongnama Shipping, Heung-A Shipping, Sinokor Merchant Marine Company and Pan Continental Shipping Company among others. The 11 Korean shipping companies met at Hanjin's head office in Yeouido, February 5.
Hanjin Shipping decided to specialize and improve equipment management through exchanging information on business trends, equipment management, repairs and leasing between domestic shipping companies at this conference.
The conference focused on organizing equipment management for Korean shipping companies to strengthen bonds between them, as is the current trend in many countries. ISO standardization work on equipment, market changes. It was also decided to periodically hold the assembly.
Jeon Byung Jin, a managing director at Hanjin Shipping said, "I have seen many exporting companies suffer from loading problems from lack of equipment. We expect to save costs with better management, standardization of equipment, and work for ISO standardization of electronic seals through this conference," and added, "this will contribute to domestic shipping development in the long run."
