UASC Launches Additional Asia - Middle East Service
United Arab Shipping Company (S.A.G.) - UASC January 27 announced the launching of a new container service connecting South East Asia with the Arabian Gulf. The new service named Asia Gulf Express (AGX) will deploy 3 modern cellular container vessels, each with an effective capacity of approximately 1,200 TEUs.
Ports of call in the new AGX service will be:Singapore, Port Kelang, Jebel Ali, Khor Fakkan, Singapore.
At Singapore the AGX service will connect with UASC's other services, providing connections to and from ports in the Northern part of Asia.
Abdullah Mady Al-Mady, president & Chief Executive Officer of UASC, stated that this injection of capacity will allow UASC to grow in this core trade commensurate with the overall growth experienced during the last 3-4 years. It will further facilitate UASC in meeting the increasing needs of key clients both in the Far East and Middle East.
The AGX service will commence with weekly sailing from Singapore during the second half of February 2004.
