The Import- Export Bank of Korea supports USD 250 million in ship finance
The Import- Export Bank of Korea announced November 11 that they would support about USD 250 million in ship financing to Seaspan, a Canadian private shipping company, to encourage the export of nine 4,250 TEU class container ships from SHI (Samsung Heavy Industries).
To this, the bank signed a financing agreement with the shipping company in Palm Springs, US.
One official staff from the bank said, "This financing support is accomplished by cooperation with 'Fortis Bank', a special banking company for ship finance in Belgium," and, "this is garnering interest from European foreign financial companies that lead the world ship financial market."
