MOMAF seeking investment from International logistic group
Nov. 9, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries visited Singapore and Hong Kong to attract global logistic enterprises to the logistic complexes in Pusan New Port and Gwangyang.
The minister of MOMAF, Seung-woo Chang, said in a press conference Nov. 4 that it is necessary for Pusan New Port to play an important part in fostering hinterlands. MOMAF already finished checking up on demand for logistics from domestic and overseas logistics companies and would start drawing up specific plans step by step, he added.
The minister assured that the PR would reap abundant fruits if the activities began in earnest, even if he couldn? reveal specific names that wish to move into the Pusan New Port logistic complex.
During the period Nov. 9 to 15, MOMAF would visit Singapore and Hong Kong with KOTRA and talk with the multinational tank terminal operator, Vopak Asia, at their headquarters about possible interest in moving in to the Pusan New Port logistic complex.
The government also plans to visit on the doors of around 10 companies such as international logistic group OOCL Logistic based in Hong Kong and warehousing company Achendas in Singapore.
