Ulsan city introduces port PR
The Ulsan city revealed Nov. 11 that it will start Ulsan port PR activity in order to attract more cargoes to the port. A report that surveyed local container cargo flow showed that only 37.3%, or 166,672 TEU of total cargoes used Ulsan Port, while the rest, 277,853 TEU, usually goes to Pusan Port.
The city will offer a revised homepage service from next March with an Ulsan Port introduction, Ulsan New Port development plan, port facilities, operating information, container information, and a directory of port industry and statistics. In addition, the Ulsan development committee includes 65 government personnel, academics, researchers and experts to study and discuss how to stimulate the port. The project will launch next February in order to support Port PR activity.
1,000 copies of leaflets will be distributed to show the port facilities, the container stevedoring ability, calling liners, port dues reduction benefits, and logistic costs saving tables.
The city will periodically survey how many shippers use Ulsan Port and prepare for potential additional usage from other areas, such as North Kyoungsang province.
