Gwangyang accepts crane transfer to Pusan
Three gantry cranes originally planned for installation at Gwangyang will instead be switched to Pusan.
Gwangyang Mayor, Mr. Sungwoong Lee said, ?wangyang will allow three gantry cranes to be installed in Pusan instead of Gwangyang in order to help Pusan back to normal. However, cranes need to be checked before installation at the berths in Pusan. In addition some cargoes from Pusan had to move to Gwangyang in order for both ports to live together.?The mayor went on to explain that the central government and City of Pusan had to support Gwangyang in handling some cargoes from Pusan so as to not lose transshipment cargoes to other country ports until Pusan returns to normal.
Gwangyang opposed switching cranes to Pusan because the 2-2 terminals in Gwangyang would be delayed another year from its original schedule.
The city requested for re-positioning logistic flows centered on Pusan.
