Hamburg-Sud celebrates 100th mediterranean voyage of the "V City of Tunis"
On 21 August 2003, the "V City of Tunis" will be departing Hamburg on her 100th Mediterranean voyage. The 1,200 TEU container ship has been sailing for the Ellerman Europe - Mediterranean service to the eastern Mediterranean since April 1994. The shipping group Hamburg Sud took over the Ellerman liner services from Andrew Weir on 1 January 2003.
On this voyage the following ports will be called:
Felixstowe - Hamburg - Antwerp - Alexandria - Beirut - Latakia - Tartous - Mersin - Izmir - Salerno - Felixtowe.
The eastern Mediterranean is regularly served by two separate weekly fixed-day services on the southern and northern routes with a total of nine vessels. The ships deployed each have a capacity of 1,200 TEU. The round trip takes 35 days on the southern route and 28 days on the northern route.
This anniversary voyage confirms the good and consistent service quality and reliability of the Hamburg Sud Group? Ellerman service to the eastern Mediterranean.
