KAL tries to enter Chinese air cargo market
Korea Airline announced August 10 that they finished planning a business strategy to attract Chinese air cargoes.
On August 8, KAL concluded an business operations agreement to open Inchon ~ Beijing with Air China in Beijing, resulting in 4 China ~ Korea cargo lines on Inchon ~ Hong Kong, Inchon ~ Shanghai, Inchon ~ Chonjin .
In addition, KAL announced that they would promote new lines, expand existing lines, and work for strategic cooperation with local airliners.
They also pointed out that Mainland China cargoes increased 27% yearly from 1998 to 2002. KAL stressed that these plans are to cover increasing cargoes in the area.
