Hanjin Shipping Terminal at Long Beach is to be used by China Shipping
Hanjin Shipping Long Beach Terminal operator TTI now offers stevedoring and terminal services to one of the two largest Chinese carrier, China Shipping.
Hanjin announced that Hanjin terminal operator at Long Beach, TTI(Total Terminals International) and China Shipping Group signed the Pier T Long Beach Terminal Service Agreement on July 28 at the head office of China Shipping in Shanghai. Hanjin Shipping Chairman Sooho Cho, China Shipping President Ke Lin Li, TTI President Young-Min Kim and MTC(Marine Terminals Corporation) President Douglas A. Tilden attended the signing ceremony.
With its first phase completed in September 2002, Hanjin Long Beach Terminal stretches over 375 acres. Its length is 5,000 ft long, allowing four super-class vessels to be docked at the same time. Furthermore, the Terminal is equipped with 12 super-size cranes that can accommodate 8,000 TEU-or-above class vessels with their stretch topping 22 containers (the world longest).
China Shipping will use Long Beach Terminal from June 2003 when it deploys 8,100 TEU class vessels fully benefiting stevedoring and terminal services of superb quality provided by TTI. Hanjin Shipping and MTC are the two major shareholders of TTI. 30.
