MOL joins Korea~Indonesia service
MOL (Mitsui O.S.K.Lines) announced July 3 that it will start offering a Korea-Indonesia service through a space-charter agreement with Dongnama Shipping Co., Ltd. The srrvice, in response to increasing customer demand in the Korea-Indonesia trade, will come into effect in late July.
Four 2,000 TEU size container ships will be used for this service, which will call at Jakarta (Thu/Fri), Surabaya (Sat/Mon), Singapore (Wed/Thu), Hong Kong (Sun/Mon), Inchon (Fri/Sat), Pusan (Mon/Thu), Keelung (Thu/Thu), and Hong Kong (Fri/Sat).
This service will enable us to operate more competitively in the region, and improve our transit times to a number of key locations. Examples of the improved service include: *South Bound (from Pusan to Jakarta - 9 days/ from Inchon to Jakarta -12 days) *North bound (from Surabaya to Inchon - 11 days/ from Jakarta to Inchon - 14 days)
The new service will commence with the M/V Eyrene, which will sail from Jakarta on 25 July.
This is the first time MOL has been able to offer a direct service between Korea and Indonesia, maintaining its position as a leading provider of high speed- high quality Intra - Asia services. MOL is committed to an effective network of Intra - Asia serviced, to meet the growing needs of customers and regional economic expansion.
