Domestic airliners reopen lines suspended because of SARS
Domestic airliners reopened operations in international routes suspended because of SARS.
On June 30, Korean Air reopened 8 of 10 routes to China, and 4 other international routes including Inchon~Bangkok. They will also operate open 5 special service routes including the Inchon~Guam line.
Lines suspended since March 3 and their reopening dates include Inchon~ Kunming (from July 14), Zinan (from July 21), Woohan (from July 23), Pusan~Xian (from July 24), Kwangju~Shanghai line (from July 23), Chungju~Shanghai line (from July 26), and Jeju Island~Beijing (from July 25). Each will run twice weekly with the Jeju line running once weekly.
While they increased operations in Inchon~Bangkok and Inchon~Hong Kong lines from 7 times a week to 14 times a week from July 1, the Pusan~Bangkok line is being increased to 4 times a week from July 1 to July 16 and to 7 times a week from July 19.
The airliner will put on special planes to popular lines like Guam, UlanBator, London, Rome, and Vancouver in order to attract passengers during the summer high season.
They will fly a 3 times weekly direct service to Anchorage, Alaska in the U.S. from July 18 to August 19. The Pigi line, suspended since May 17, will be opened for a 2 times weekly direct service from July 23.
In the mean time, Asiana Airlines reopened 4 of 8 canceled China routes on the first of July. The opened routes include Inchon~Chongqing, Pusan~Shenyang, Jeju Island~Shanghai, and Pusan~Beijing.
They are also boosting the Inchon~Beijing service from 7 times a week to 13 times a week from July 21, the Inchon~Shanghai service from 10 times a week to 14 times a week from July 1, Inchon~Changchun from 4 times a week to 7 times a week from July 21, and the Inchon~Harbin service from 3 times a week to 4 times a week from July 1.
The suspended Jeju Island~Osaka route will operate again 2 times a week from July 16.
