LME warehouse request for CFZ
Yeosoo Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries filed a request to designate the LME warehouse grounds as CFZ (Customs Free Zone) to MOMAF Feb. 12.
The areas requested are located within the eastern section of Gwangyang port already scheduled for CFZ, and is building a 16,000 pyoung warehouse for LME.
The LME warehouse is scheduled for completion by this March, with Global Enterprise investing 16 billion won along with Henrybath from the USA and Conelder Co. from the Netherlands. Construction started in October 2002.
With this LME warehouse, Gwangyang will expand its role from stevedoring and storage to include trade in nonferrous metals.
