Inchon asks for budget hike in 2004
Inchon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is looking to increase its budget for 2004 to 128.3 billion won increased by 42% from 90.4 billion won in 2003. The office explained the need for a budget increase citing new port development and on-going projects.
Inchon City is planning to support Inchon Port for designation as an Economic Free Zone this year in order to renovate the main parts of the port. Therefore, 116.6 billion won will go to the southern harbor for container terminals, to build an embankment and to deepen the water depth. It will also improve out-of-date port facilities and pour money into the northern harbor, as well.
In addition, the southern outer harbor development will include a bridge to facilitate smoother traffic.
