CATOS to be installed on Israeli port
The port operation system developed by domestic companies is to be set up in an Israeli port.
Total Soft Banks, a port related software developer, said September 6 that it started to install the port system, Computer automated Terminal Operation System (CATOS) in the Israeli harbor after finishing research on the port. The system will be set up on the Hayovel container terminal in Ashdod, operated by the Ports and Railways Authority (PRA).
Total Soft Bank won the bid for the project last June, defeating NAVIS from the US and COSMOS from Belgium, the No. 1 and 2 port software companies.
The company revealed that this project would change terminal gate and stevedoring to work automatically and connect in real time with the container GPS system and the accounting system of the company.
PRA is a government body to run the three leading ports in Israel: Haifa, Ashdod, and Eliat. The PRA is planning to introduce a new terminal operation system to boost its competitive power starting with Ashdod.
